Cornwall is an amazing wonder of UK, and has so many hidden gems. One of the most unlooked is Sandymouth beach. Its on the edge of Cornwall, and 5 minutes drive away from Devon. Hence it being such a delight to visit as you get to taste a bit of Cornwall with a dose of Devon’s Countryside too.
Cornwall has an amazing history, with lots to see and visit, you really can not be stuck and bored. It truly is a fascination place, aswell as Devon. Its Rolling hills and countryside, lots little farms to visit.
With the British weather not having a normal winter any more, the tide can be out all year round, even if it is in, its still a beautiful place to visit just to see the most fascinating rocks. The Rocks glow so beautiful with different shades of the rainbow. Such a wonder of nature.
Where to stay?
Before you enter the beach there is a resort there, so you could just stay there, perfect for children, as they have a pirates boat and lots of activities going on for the little people in your family.
There are also wonderful coves to stay in. Meaning cottages, lots of lovely cottages to choose from where to stay either in Cornwall or Devon. One lovely place we love to visit is a set of cottages with an indoor pool. Yes, indoor pool in your own cottage with heating too! You have 3 to choose from; small, medium to large. All wonderful, and the owners, have saved some battery chickens, that give fresh eggs for you to have breakfast with. Forgot to mention it is actually a self catering cottage with all the white goods and frills in place. The owners also delightfully, have a few goodies waiting for you, like home made jams and cheeses. A living area to wind down in with a fabulous country feel, and modern twist with a TV with DVDs to choose from or you could use their WiFi.
You can have your usual supermarket shopping delivered their to. However, there are some lovely places to eat if you feel like self-catering is a bit much everyday, just a scenic view down the road will come their little village, which will lead to the Beach.
Sandy mouth beach entrance has a narrow drive down a spiral pathway, and you can see the sea in the distance, very much a breathtaking view before you actually get close to the breathtaking view, rather amazing experience not to be missed. If you have never been I highly recommend a visit very soon, you will not be disappointed. The prices are very much cheap and reasonable for the cottage in Autumn and winter which is regarded as off peak and triple in the spring and summer. I would say October, is a good time to visit price wise, and weather wise as there is still a spot of sunny spells left. Well, even December has some Sun, so December Holiday Period is a bargain and a lovely break with the family as the cottages can house over 10.
